Common technical questions about breathable non-woven materials, heating performance, powder leakage control, comfort and application matching for self-heating products.
GSM does not equal heating performance. Even if two materials are both 70gsm non-woven fabrics, they may still have completely different fiber diameters, fiber density, pore size, pore size distribution, calendering degree, lamination structure, adhesive amount and surface treatment.
For warmer patches, the real factor affecting the temperature curve is not the weight alone, but the combined effect of pore structure, breathable performance and composite structure.
The skin around the eyes is more sensitive to friction, lint, odor and chemical residues. Common causes include short fiber shedding, rough surface texture, residual odor from adhesives, inks or raw materials, and odor becoming more noticeable after heating.
Therefore, steam eye mask materials should emphasize softness, low irritation, low lint shedding and low-odor performance.
No. For iron powder oxidation type heating products, the breathable material is actually equivalent to an oxygen control valve.
Excessive breathability may cause the reaction to occur too fast, resulting in high peak temperature and shorter duration. The key is not maximum breathability, but stable and controlled air permeability.
Usually not recommended. Although these products may all use heating powder systems, their final usage scenarios and material performance priorities are different.
Steam eye masks focus more on softness, low irritation and comfort, while hand warmers and warmer patches pay more attention to breathable control, sealing strength and powder leakage resistance.
Not necessarily. Powder leakage is not solved simply by increasing thickness. It is also related to pore size, pore distribution, material wear resistance, sealing edge condition and fine powder migration.
What really needs to be controlled is the balance between particle barrier and air permeability: allowing air to enter while preventing powder from leaking out.
